How Shared Acres Works?

We grow solely for our shareholders and each shareholder is given a dedicated garden space where we do the weeding you do the eating.  Our goal is to have this garden provide two adults with enough fresh vegetables, and herbs to enjoy each week.   Shareholders pickup their harvest weekly at designated day and time. Within this garden a divers array of plants are maintained by our staff such as mixed salad greens, broccoli, cauliflower, onions, sweet peas, tomatoes, and eggplant just to  name a few.   After reviewing the list and there is something you do not want or want to add to the harvest list you are allowed to contact us with a substitute and we can quickly estimate the difference in the harvest for you.  Also shareholders are encouraged to spend time at the farm; playing in the playground, taking walks in the woods, fishing in our two ponds or just relaxing in the hammock.

The hours to pick up your weekly harvest are Monday through Saturday 10:00 am-7:00 pm. Each shareholder will be allowed to schedule a consistent time that fits into their schedule and will be asked to choose their date in late April. We do ask that you try to adhere to your chosen pick up time so that your garden can have time to recover and grow. If you run into a problem you can change your scheduled time, you will need to contact us in advance so that we can prepare your harvest. If you are unable to pick up your harvest during a certain week, you will be able to have friend pick up your harvest also by notifying us in advance. If a friend is not available your weeks harvest will be donated to the local bank. Shared Acres will also be open on Sunday after 2:00 pm to come relax, play, and enjoy the facility. However no harvesting will be done on this day.
